From November 24 to 30, 2016, the Casa del Maquio planned the second edition in Culiacán of Ambulante presents. Ambulante, a traveling documentary film festival, is a civil association created in 2005 by Gael García Bernal and Diego Luna with the aim of promoting documentary film as a tool for social transformation in places that lack this type of offer. A selection of 10 documentaries was screened in the same venues as the previous year: the Casa del Maquío garden, the Botanical Garden auditorium, Las Riberas Park and Cinépolis Culiacán.
The films selected for the Ambulante presents Culiacán 2016 edition were:

For the inauguration, Everardo González, director of the documentary film “El Paso”, was invited, who portrays the stories of two Mexican journalists who, after being threatened by organized crime, must flee with their families to the United States, ask for asylum and look for a life there. way to survive.

Before the opening screening in the Casa garden, a meeting was organized to discuss different problems related to censorship, human rights, freedom of expression and the vulnerability of journalism in Mexico between Director Everardo González, journalists and intellectuals and the Sinaloan film critic.
